Commissions Process

Why Commission Bespoke Jewellery?

Commissioning your own jewellery is a truly unique and rewarding experience, the result of which you will be able to wear and enjoy for many years to come, and it’s easier than you may think!  Here we aim to demystify the process.  The flexibility of a bespoke design service means that I can work to your requirements and budget.  Working from my home workshop means my work does not carry a retail price, so commissioning a one off piece of jewellery is usually more affordable than you might think.  It all starts with a simple call or email to us.  We undertake all kinds of commissions, for some examples please see our commissions gallery

Stage 1 – Inspiration & Development of Ideas

We make sure your visit to us here in the beautiful Kent countryside will be a very relaxed experience.  Over a cup of coffee we will go on to progress the design concepts, discussing metal preference, gemstones, clarity and colour of stones, etc and here I may make some initial sketches.  There will be no time limit to our consultation.  We can take as long as you need to discuss ideas until you are entirely happy.  This process can also be done over the phone, email or via Zoom (although with this option you’ll have to make your own coffee!)

Stage 2 – Bringing your ideas to life

Following our meeting I will use the ideas discussed and any sketches to create a CAD (Computer Aided Design) image(s).  This will be a high quality photo- realistic image of your design.  Once you’re happy with this we can move with confidence to the next stage – realisation of the idea.  For just 10% deposit we will proceed to making your design.  We source the highest quality, ethical precious metals and stones.  I will personally make your jewellery in house to the very highest and meticulous standards, using over 25 years of experience.  The production of bespoke pieces usually takes around 3-4 weeks.

Stage 3 – The Finished Piece

Your jewellery will be independently assessed by the London Assay Office before being hallmarked, guaranteeing its bullion authenticity, quality and identity of the maker.  It is then ready for collection or delivery.  Packaged in a beautiful Jesper Velling presentation box and bag and accompanied by a free valuation certificate for insurance purposes.  We also offer a complimentary cleaning and polishing service of your bespoke jewellery for life.
