About Jesper

I’m Danish born and spent my formative years growing up between Denmark and England. I say ‘formative’ because Scandinavia has a culture of good design, and Britain a history of quality craftsmanship, and both were to be a huge influence on my chosen path of being a Jewellery Designer and Goldsmith.

I was privileged to be trained at the prestigious Kent Institute Of Art And Design (now University for the Creative Arts), which not only fostered the creative spirit and design talents, but where I also learned the practical craft of the Goldsmith, giving me the techniques and mastery to give form to the ideas I envisage. This artistry was further honed working for a major international jeweller in Hatton Garden London.

To be a Goldsmith is more than an profession, I consider it a privilege, and it fuels my passion to create pieces of innovative and exquisite jewellery. I’m inspired by every stage of the process, from generating an idea, thinking in three dimensions, working with precious materials, culminating in handing over the finished piece for somebody to cherish.

My inspiration also comes from the people I make jewellery for, matching their spirit, fulfilling their aspirations, capturing the essence of a feeling or occasion, this is a profoundly rewarding exchange. I’m always happy to create beautiful things, but happier still when those things create happiness in somebody else. That’s the real alchemy of the Goldsmith, the magic that happens when my creation finds recognition, and a persons heartfelt appreciation of something to treasure forever.

So what next? 2010 sees me blessed with a carefully picked team of specialists I can call upon, all masters in their field of expertise who I can trust with my reputation, including my very talented Workshop Manager David Bridger, a name to watch out for. I have a newly designed fully appointed workshop which is a Goldsmith’s dream, a place I can simply carry on doing what I love. The brand is gaining international recognition and growing, and I continue as I always have to run my business with integrity and passion.
